A Brief Introduction to Jishou University
Jishou University is located in the scenic Xiangxi Prefecture and Zhangjiajie City. It is one of the three comprehensive universities under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province and the only comprehensive university in the Wuling Mountain Area. It is jointly established by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the People's Government of Hunan Province. It admits students in the first - batch admission category, is a general university that recommends outstanding fresh undergraduate graduates for postgraduate study without entrance examination, a doctoral - degree - awarding unit, a university under high - level construction in Hunan Province, and a university included in the "Double First - Class" initiative in Hunan Province.
The university was founded in 1958 with the approval of Zhou Enlai, the first premier of the People's Republic of China. In 2000, the former Jishou Health School was merged into it; in 2002, the former Wuling College was incorporated; in 2024, the Normal College of Jishou University was fully and substantially integrated. The university's educational history can be traced back to the Wuxi Academy founded by Wu He, a disciple of the Ming - dynasty thinker Wang Yangming and an educator, in 1553.

About the Program
Non-degree Chinese Language Proficiency Program
I.Admission eligibility and conditions
1.Eligibility:full-time students majored in Chinese Language from Belt&Road partner countries, aged 18years or above,and are currently not studying in Hunan Province.
2.Priority admission will be given to applicants with foundational proficiency in Chinese.
II. Duration: one academic year.
III.Scholar coverage and standards
Scholarship recipients are entitled to a scholarship of 20,000 yuan per academic year per student, which consists of two components:
1.A one-time disbursement of 15,000 yuan covering registration fees, tuition fees, basic textbook expenses, accommodation fees, and comprehensive insurance premiums.
2.An additional living allowance of 5,000 yuan per student per academic year (disbursed in two installments) will be granted to students who maintain good academic standing and demonstrate compliance with laws and institutional regulations without any disciplinary violations.

2.Digital Photo(Requirement:2-inch color headshot photo with white background (no border), where the head occupies approximately 2/3 of the photo height. Minimum resolution: 320×240 pixels (4:3 aspect ratio). File size: 100–500 KB in JPG format)

6. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (within 6-month validity period)
Reqiurement:The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Physical Examination Record for Foreigner. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. HIV and VDRL(syphilis) are required items. The physical examination conclusion should have the words "healthy". The medical examination results will be valid for 6 months.
